Seen as the most innovative sailing yacht manufacturer, MacGregor Sailboats began in the early 60s as a class project at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, while Roger MacGregor was earning an MBA degree. Macgregor sailboats invented the retracting keel as well as the trailer able sailboat market, the fastest growing segment of sailing.
